I really love the idea of this awning and the fit and finish seems pretty good overall. It sets up fairly quick and easy, and the functionality is great. I know a few people have issues with the zip-down wall on the vehicle side, but it doesn't really bother me. I'm able to get in and out of my Suburban easily enough, and if I'm expecting rain I can simply zip it up from the inside and enter the vehicle from another door until the weather subsides. What really bothered me though is the overall quality of the fabric used - specifically on the joint that slides in to the C-channel on the awning. I have only set the room up twice, and the most recent time I ripped the fabric pulling it through the aluminum channel. The edge of the aluminum channel did not seem to be razor sharp, and there is a plastic guide on the end that appears to be there to prevent this exact thing from happening. Even with these safeguards, it wasn't enough to prevent tearing the canvas while feeding the back edge through. I really wish they would have utilized a removable zipper like they do on the front edge, or at least used a more durable ripstop material. I'm sure I can band-aid it with a tent patch, but if this is already an issue after the second use I'm not very optimistic about long-term durability. I honestly like it so much, I'd be willing to take it in to a specialist for a more permanent repair if the rest of it holds up. It's just disappointing that I would even have to, especially after only two uses. I have seen other reviewers mention this exact issue, hopefully ARB listens to customer feedback and will remedy this problem with future iterations.

we have the zipper fabric encased awning on our transit connect and we love everything about that version except the zipper to access the awning. The aluminum case with bungee straps is a huge design improvement. I had to create my own brackets since we dont have a roof rack and I wanted to mount to van deck to allow it to come down the sidewall for easier ground access. Other than that, very easy install.

we installed on our teardrop camper. love the light strip. this is going to be great for camping trips.
