Bilstein B6 4600 shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit upgrade to OE shock absorbers on stock height light trucks and SUV's. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design which provides consistent fade free performance. B6 4600 shock absorbers utilize a unique, velocity sensitive, digressive piston which reacts to changing road conditions. All B6 4600 shock absorbers are tuned for each specific application to ensure optimal performance is achieved. B6 4600 shock absorbers offer a significant improvement in ride quality, handling, and comfort.

170k on OEM shocks, while towing trailer could feel hobby-horse rocking over bumps especially on highways.Bilstein shocks reduced/controlled movement and over smaller road installations - eliminated.Spouse felt small road bumps more after initial install. This seems to have reduced though these shocks replace 170k originals and truck is 4x4 so be prepared for a firmer ride.Overall a great product and easy install on 1500 4x4.

You know when you're about to get seasick after hitting a bump in the road, it's time for new shocks. The ones on my truck (my beloved Gertrude, an '03 Silverado, Z71, 4x4, torsion bar springs) were close to 12 years old. After hauling things like dirt, gravel, mulch, trash (at about 900 lbs at a time), it was time. These Bilstein shocks fit the bill(stein). The only trouble was a couple of skinned knuckles, some sailor-inspired linguistics, and the occasional ballistics experiment using common hand tools. Once the shocks were in place, the ride was much improved. Instead of riding like a log-wagon with bad shocks, she now rides like a log-wagon with new shocks (let's face it - honestly, it's a truck; it's never going to ride like your gramma's Towncar). Bottom line - perfect fit for Gertrude!

This is front driver’s side on 2002 Silverado 4wd with Z71 option. I replaced all 4 shocks, perfect fit and ride has improved. ( I also replaced front and rear suspension bumpers while I was at it.)
