I ordered this @ the end of August and it took 15 days to arrive (even with Prime). It was over a week later than its original estimated delivery date before I received it. Delivery originated in PA, U.S.A which came to Ontario, Canada, its destination. Unusual. I was concerned further as the box it arrived in was torn up. But after opening, contents seemed ok.Looked pretty hard at these units online, taking all reviews and videos into account. I came to the conclusion this Smittybilt 2780 tire inflator isn't one of your run of the mill units on Better Bumper. This feels to be a robust, heavy, well built compressor that does the simple job of putting air in your tires (or other items). It isn't as loud as my previous compressor, but that is a relative experience. It doesn't shake and move around as it runs, just stays in place. I found after about 5 min of use the heat sinks were hot, but not enough to burn skin. The hoses seem like good quality, fittings work as intended. The gauge doesn't match the readings on my other two tire gauges but most people who own these have had similar experiences, so it was expected. Once you learn the discrepency in the Smittybilt 2780's gauge you'll know what the actual pressure is using it as a guide VS your more accurate gauge. It comes with a really nice bag (though a bit thin in material) and everything fits inside.Cons would be, mainly that I wish it had a quick connector to the tire valve instead of screw on and perhaps thicker material for the bag would be nicer too.Overall this is a fantastic machine. They even included some valve ends for things other than tires. If it holds up for some years I would say it's a top shelf product.Recommended.

Fast fillup for car tires 2 min or less / tire fast and easy hookup to car battery. Included bag accommodates all components and fits easily unobtrusively. Minor issue is pressure gauge is marked only every 5 psi so getting a more precise fill in between becomes a little iffy. Not a big deal though for me.Glad I bought one.... no more visits to the quarter gouging air pumps at gas stations anymore!!! I’m like why didn’t I have one before. .... seems like a no brainer for anyone with a car or suv or off roader not to mention all the other potential air filling uses from basket balls, cycle tires etc.Equipment looks and feels rugged and very well built and I read a lot of reviews before I settled on this one and don’t regret it one bit. Great product!!!

I bought this for my Jeep and off-roading. The tires are 33 all terrains. I observed that the yellow hose material was quite flimsy as compared to other portable compressors. As an experiment, I filled two tires from 40 psi to 60 with a fill time of about two minutes. A third tire was filled from 15 to about 55 psi. The ambient temperature was about 95 degrees. At 55 psi the yellow hose melted and blew a hole through the side. This fill time was about 4.5 minutes. The pump generates a large amount of heat due to the high cfm. The hose melted but the built in thermal protection switch did not shut the pump off. The pump should be designed with a hose material that has a higher melting temperature than the temperature of the thermal switch. I requested a newer upgraded hose from the manufacturer or I will have to upgrade the hose to a better material.

Bought this as an emergency compressor for my truck camper with 125psi tires- went to use it this summer audit would not reach that pressure despite running for a long period of time- not recommended! Going to try a Viar 450P-RV

Purchased this compressor 28 days short of 2 years from today and it died this past weekend. I've used it pretty hard in that time to fill up the 35's on my jk from 15-45 lbs at least once or twice a week. Expected more from this company and the price point. Compressor was not the fastest around, everyone else with most pumps would fill faster, and it would get very very hot to the point Id not put it back in the bag till it cooled down. Looking for a replacement now and will not be repurchasing this brand.
