Bestop 7530615 Rear-Mount Trekstep for 2009-2018 Dodge Ram 1500 (Without Dual Exhaust) & 2011-2018 Ram 2500/3500

I like the Rugged look and the product is very well designed. The installation and instructions were not thought out well or explained in detail. Overall I was determined to put the pieces together and everything was a success.

Easy to install. Bolts on to existing frame location, no drilling. Only problem was not adding all the spacer shims right off the bat. Can adjust the step laterally, also. Works great. F350 with canopy.

The instructions to this step are not clear but after taking things apart you do find out what they are talking about. It does take some time to get this installed but it is worth it to have this extra step at the bed of the truck.

To be clear the following model number is posted multiple locations to support a ram 1500 with exhaust on both sides of the truck.Bestop 7531015 TrekStep, Rear-Mount - 2009-2010 Dodge Ram 1500 & 2011-2018 Ram 1500 (Dual Exhausts Only); Fits Rear Either SideI purchased two, one for each side to be able to more easily access my RTT locks since I have a hitchgate. I did have to use all 4 spacers on my passenger side to make sure the step did not hit the hitchgate (which required a longer bolt than provided). The driver's side fit perfectly and installation was quick, no spacers needed, which is good since the instructions don't have caveats identified during the step, but at a later step. It has you put red Loctite on the main portion, but then at the end, you may need to remove it to add spacers.On this vehicle the bumper support bracket connects the bumper next to the exhaust to the outer corner of the bumper. I didn't see or feel much difference in the removal of this, but I could see if you do put a lot of weight on the corners where it wouldn't be ideal. But you wouldn't have to anymore with this step, so 50/50?So far so good. Supports my weight (250lb) well and I feel comfortable standing on it. It moves the whole truck end when stepping on it and moving, it does not feel clunky.Time will tell how it lasts though.
