Details: This lightweight, yet rock-solid bumper step assist employs a rugged die-cast aluminum alloy linkage assembly that is crafted in the USA. Black anodized and PTFE coated for maximum corrosion protection. Precision, stainless-steel hinge points and press-fit bushings ensure trouble-free action and reliable, maintenance-free operation for decades. Die-cast-aluminum alloy linkage components and precision-machined pivot points give BedStep rock-solid stability. The ridged, non-slip step is molded of strong glass-reinforced resin, for safe footing even in mud, snow or ice. Strong and rugged, this non-slip, retractable bumper step quickly flips down with the nudge of your foot providing a faster, easier and safer way to load or unload your pickup’s cargo. Supports up to 300 lbs. Frame mounts under the rear bumper so it works even with an open tailgate or when towing.

It's a great addition to my 2500HD.

I installed this on my lifted 2500HD. I use my truck to tow my camper, previously I would climb up the side of the tire and step over the side of the bed. This step made a huge difference in the ease of getting into the bed. It's very easy to push the step down and pull it up.

Tough install

The product I received didn't fit my 1500 very well. Had to take the step off 5 times trying to adjust the angle it would drop down. Marred up the finish on the sides in the process. Was hoping for an easy install like the other reviews suggested, but I didn't have that experience. Hope the product will work well.

I'm very happy with it...check out the pictures

I just installed this today and am really happy I bought this one. I went back and forth between this and the cheaper competing brand. From what I could tell AMP Research is the supplier for the OEM's...so I trust that quality. I'm happy it's made in the USA, it's aluminum. The installation really was about 10 minutes. I got the two bolts off my truck with no problem. I used a 1/2 set and breaker bar...note I used a regular socket, deep socket, and extension for installation...hardest part with installation was the rust falling off my truck. It's a 2009 Silverado, so 6 years old with 60k mileage. I bought this for my dad since he's over 65...he's the sorta guy I was worried would say this is for old people but it's not...it's for everyone...it really makes getting into and out of the truck a heck of a lot easier...he tried it and loved it so if he can love it I'm sure anyone can. Note it was installed on a 1500 and I feel it's about half way between the ground and the tailgate. I'll probably order 2 steps for the side of the beds next...I know it adds up cost wise but it's still worth it.
