Purchased this for $730.54 in March 21, 2019 and have used it 20+ times in all weather. It keeps me dry and is easy to set up/pack away. One thing to note is that it is VERY loud when it's windy even when you batten down the windows and space out the zippers. In the cold weather I run a buddy heater in the tent on low and that works well. Although you can have two people in the tent, it's a bit tight with gear and you better be okay with a little spooning.

Update: I have traveled over 4 months in this tent with nearly 80 nights sleeping in this tent, plus lots of weekend trips. Overall the tent is holding up really well, few damaged screws and things coming loose but if your vigilant its easy to catch and fix. Biggest gripe is the rain fly, it doesnt do well at all in wind. It has kept me dry the whole trip but if there is a gust greater than 20 mph the whole tent shakes. On nights with low chance of rain I remove the rain fly and it is much easier to sleep but if your in a storm, id rather sleep in the car than try than be miserable in this tent.Decided to switch from my Big Agnes standard tent to an RTT when overlanding with hopes that setup would be easier and i could camp on rougher terrain comfortably.Installation: extremely easy, the versatile mounting options will bolt onto pretty much anything with a little bit of creativity. I have mine mounted on the Smittybilt Defender rack. It took about 2 hours by myself, with help it would be even faster.Setup and use: Setup is fairly simple, alone it takes about 10 minutes (4 minutes with a partner) since you have to run back and forth pulling straps and velcro. Once everything is released its easy to pull on the ladder and flip the tent open. Then another 5 minutes to put in some of rods to vent. Its tricky to install the rain fly on tall vehicles, you can do it from the inside but it takes time and isn't fun when raining. Once setup the tent is surprisingly stable. I was a little concerned the hinge that folds the tent in half would have some flex and bother me but absolutely nothing. I installed an extra 2 foam padding (Queen size stuff fits well) and its pretty comfortable.

I don’t like to recommend anything until I’ve tested it, but after the thunderstorm we went through Saturday night I feel like I can weigh in a little early on this one. In short, if you are considering a roof top tent (RTT) then the Smittybuilt RTT is a fantastic tent at a reasonable price. Just after dark Saturday night a big ole red cell formed on the radar and just sat right on top of us and dumped nearly 2” of rain in the next 2 hours along with some significant winds. Since it was so early in the evening and we weren’t ready to go to bed yet, we just moved our chairs into the bottom “annex” room, ate our supper and had a few beers while watching the lightning flash outside. Later on when it slacked up a little, we crawled on up in the tent and called it a night. Not a drop of water in the tent and even with the strong winds everything stood strong. It’s hard to find a tent that is truly waterproof, but this one did very well and we slept like babies, high and dry.The only 2 areas I’ve seen that need to be improved after spending almost a solid week sleeping in this tent are:1 - Needs a little thicker memory foam mattress. It has a 3” mattress, but I can still feel the hard floor of the tent slightly when I’m on my side. I’m going to add another 1.5” memory foam pad underneath it or maybe even a thin air mattress. I think that either will solve the problem and won’t effect the setup and storage in anyway.2 - The ground stakes for the annex are junk. I’ll go buy some heavier duty stakes to replace them.In summary: Well made, easy to set up, lots of features and user friendly.

Rather easy to put on our Jeep Wrangler and travelled well. Travel cover is tight and weatherproof! Easy up and down. Our first time using it was windy (gusting to 45+ mph) and rainy. No damage to the tent, flap poles, or frame. BONE dry after hours of rain.Great tent!We purchased from another site, but am glad to share our review!!
