Excellent 2018 Toyota Tacoma Truck Bed Extender

Needed a truck bed extend mostly to hold things down when the trunk is closed. This trunk bed extender perfectly fit my 2018 Toyota Tacoma and arrived very fast! I followed the advice of other reviewers and found the large truck bed template to be more accurate for my truck directly from The Amp Research website. Avoid the instructions included in the packaging and watch the YouTube videos on installing an Amp Research truck bed extender. This made the installation process a breeze and I’m very satisfied with my install. Overall product was as described and I would highly recommend it for extending your truck bed!

Excellent Customer Service

I received mine without the bumper pieces which go on each end of the plastic connecting pieces you see in the center. I wrote an email to AMP Research’s customer service and in less than 10 hours received a response, stating they’ve already processed my request, and less than 24 hours later received an email with a FedEx tracking number for two day shipping from the West Coast to the East Coast. Unbelievably great customer service.

Installation was simple. I used the method others suggested in these reviews, versus using the company’s paper templates included with the installation directions. I put together the entire assembly: rested the brackets on the extender, and put it in place to mark the locations to drill my holes.

Everything looks great. I’m excited to have this extender for when I need to haul my motorcycles anywhere with my Tacoma.

Great Alternative to the OEM Bed Extender - Works on 2020 Tacomas

fit on 2020 Toyota Tacomas - Anything 3rd gen / 2016+ long bed or short bed is compatible with the AMP Research bed extender.

Relatively easy to install but figuring out placement was the tricky part. If you read up on TacomaWorld and other online posts most users say to go with the large template for Tacoma trucks despite AMP Research recommending the small template.

The large template seems to work and the bed extender looks level with the tailgate with no slant or rubbing issues.
