I have a 98 k3500 crew cab short bed this works!!!!! If you have a 88-98 Chevy truck you will need to ***CUT out a sheetmetal (non essential) lip to fit the motors. extremely easy to do, check
pics. LAYOUT THE HARNESS FIRST this isn't technically made for the 88-98 Chevy truck so you will know exactly where you need to place your mounts/motors. The instructions have it for the 99-02 gm truck obviously which is a little different. Make sure toss out the self tapping screws which the instructions say drill a pilot hole and buy yourself some good ***SELF TAPPERS. When you do this start the hole and what the screws get traction back them out and cut off the ends so they don't go out the otherside of the rocker panel. The instructions say go all they way through and grind down the tip and cover with silicone like in the picture I posted. I'll be backing out and trimming and reinstalling the screws then tack or bond the holes. ****WIRING- for my truck on the driver's and passenger side I only used one trigger wire to the SMALL PURPLE WIRE (door ajar wire). Each side has two trigger wires coming from the amp harness, so you should only be using one trigger wire on each side. You'll only use one diode per side. I still need to zip up wiring and stick the LEDs in, which may be seen hanging in the picture above.

My wife was having issues climbing into the truck with the Nerf bar steps that were on the truck when we purchased it. These AMP steps come down 4-1/2” lower than what was on there before. She is super happy with these steps! I love the clean look these give the truck when they are retracted! I like the LED lights. I am a little worried about how long they will stay attached using the provided double sticky tape. Now the ugly part of this. My truck is one of the last built of the ‘07 Classic models. The instructions are written for the 4 door truck/SUV, not for the extended cab. None of the locations noted in the instructions were appropriate to install the mounting blocks. Overall a great product built here in the USA! Even though they are pricey if it was not for the install difficulty on my truck I would give them 5 Stars.

Been wanting a set of these for years. Great product. Works well. Would have gave 5 star if the controller wasn't faulty. (The lights wouldn't work through the controller). Double checked everything, they would only work when I jumped it with 12V. I called tech. support, they said it's a faulty controller... Didn't want to send it back and wait for another unit. (Everything else works fine) So, I just tapped into the dome light system. Works great!

I had the 3 inch stainless step tubes on my truck prior to these and after adding a six inch lift, it was quite a step up to get into the truck. These extend down a full 5 inches lower than my old static steps and makes getting in and out of the truck much easier. Made the wife happy too! I think they are priced a bit on the steep side for what they are, but still well worth it! Installation was pretty easy doing everything by myself. If you have some basic mechanical abilities, install should be a breeze. Instructions are nice and clear and easy to follow. My only issue, although minor, is that there is no manual override switch to leave them extended for the carwash as they don't get very clean otherwise.

The durability,good quality excellent price, it's not hard to install if you follow the instructions
